The plant was further optimized to a clinker production capacity of 1000 TPD in the year 2002 by adopting improved technology and control system with minimum investment. In 2004, with the introduction of blended cement by using industrial wastes such as slag and flyash, the capacity of cement production was further enhanced to 1650 TPD.
Clinker production is expected to commence soon. The project is being implemented by Dungsam Cement Corporation Limited, which is a whollyowned subsidiary of Druk Holding and Investments, an investment arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan. The plant will have production capacity of 1Mt/yr for clinker and /yr for cement.
